The composite barrel is actually tuned to exceed the ball exit speed ratio of 98 mph, but with Louisville Slugger’s new S1 iD Technology they bring the barrel back to the allowable performance level. The all new S1 iD Technology allows the barrel to flex to its maximum allowable performance level from SWING 1. Inside the barrel is a “governor” that is positioned at the sweet spot to stop the barrel from flexing past the performance limit giving players maximum allowable performance. For the first time ever you get the performance of a top of the line composite bat without the break in period. The new iST composite design features a solid connection between the handle and barrel, giving players optimal results with every swing. While maintaining handle stiffness, iST joins the barrel and handle together providing players with a great solid feel and larger sweet spot.
